Marvel’s Avengers game adds Captain America Infinity War DLC

Crystal Dynamics has dropped its latest micro DLC for Marvel’s Avengers. However, those who want to dress Captain America in his Infinity War costume will have to pay an eye-watering sum.

Available now via the in-game marketplace, you can slap a beard on Steve Rogers and roll his sleeves up ever so slightly for that authentic MCU look. While the developers and art team have done a great job reimagining this costume for Marvel’s Avengers, it costs almost as much as a copy of the game itself.

The “Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War” exotic outfit will set you back 1,400 Credits. In real money, that’s around £12 which is, quite frankly, ridiculous. Marvel’s Avengers can be brought second hand on PS4 and Xbox One for a few quid extra with new copies selling for less than £20. You can even get full access via Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Now.

Overpriced DLC is currently one of the game’s biggest issues. Although character cosmetics are completely optional and offer no gameplay advantages, Square Enix are baiting Marvel fans into spending silly amounts of money.

Marvel’s Avengers cross-play and 5 other improvements we need

However, it has to be noted that all playable content since launch has been added for free. This includes three sizeable expansions, adding three additional playable characters: Kate Bishop, Hawkeye, and Black Panther. Despite some shortcomings the latest Marvel’s Avengers DLC – War for Wakanda – was a worth diving back into the game for.

What’s next for Marvel’s Avengers? As we push into Autumn and through to the end of the year, we’ll gain access to the Klaw raid. This is the first raid coming to Marvel’s Avengers, designed for four players:

The Klaw Raid features custom-crafted levels, new threats that require complex and tactical combat, and stronger enemy variety themed to the Villain being faced. New enemies called Echoes – sound constructs created by Klaw – have been created and tailored exclusively for this experience. With the Power Level increase to 175 yielding more compelling drops, it is a notable example of replayable and rewarding content that fits our mantra moving forward.

What about Spider-Man? There’s no news on the webslinger just yet. If we had to guess, Crystal are working on a new mini campaign for our friendly neighbourhood hero, similar to Black Panther and War for Wakanda.
