Pumpkin Jack is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
Pumpkin Jack is going to be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in a new gen edition, Headup and Thunderful has confirmed. The new gen edition of Pumpkin Jack will run at 60fps and will have some ray-tracing as well. Pumpkin Jack New Gen edition will be available from October 27th. Those who own the game on PS4 and Xbox One will get a free upgrade to the new gen edition, as it will be a cross buy title.
There will be both a Performance and Quality option to run the game in. The difference between the two is as follows. Performance Mode targets up to 4K resolution at 60fps whereas Quality Mode targets up to 4K resolution at 30fps, adding higher quality effects and shadows with Ray-Tracing. Developer Nicolas Meyssonnier said: “Pumpkin Jack may be a retro throwback to the golden age of 3D platformers, but it elevates it with contemporary graphics that have never looked better, thanks to the new gen’s ray-tracing enhancements. This is the definitive edition of Pumpkin Jack, arriving just in time for Halloween!”
In our original review for the game, Steve wrote: “Pumpkin Jack is a fun and nostalgic title that is perfectly placed to be your Halloween game this year. Highly recommended for any fans of old school platforming adventures, but also worth checking out for the spookier sorts too. It doesn’t revolutionise anything, but it also doesn’t outstay its welcome, and the fact that it is the work of a solo developer makes it even more impressive. This particular pumpkin deserves to carve out some of your seasonal gaming time.”
